Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 kg 4 lbs beef back ribs
  • ½ cup your favorite BBQ sauce

Instructions

Step 1: Prep the ribs

  • Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Mix smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl. Rub the ribs with olive oil, then coat generously with the spice mix. Cover and marinate for at least 2 hours in the fridge.

Step 2: Slow bake

  • Preheat your oven to 160°C (320°F). Arrange the ribs in a single layer on the foil-lined baking sheet. Cover tightly with foil, sealing the edges so steam stays inside. Bake for 3 ½ to 4 hours until tender.

Step 3: Add the BBQ glaze

  • Remove from the oven and carefully drain the fat. Brush BBQ sauce over the ribs, coating generously.

Step 4: Broil for a crispy finish

  • Set your oven to broil on high and cook the ribs for 5 minutes, until the sauce is bubbling and caramelized.

Step 5: Serve and enjoy

  • Brush any remaining pan juices onto the ribs before serving. Enjoy warm with your favorite sides like coleslaw, cornbread, or baked potatoes.
